Kansas City Wizards Camps
The 2009 Kansas City Wizards Soccer Camps will once again provide local area players of all ages with a fantastic camp program and a chance to meet Kansas City Wizards players and coaches.
This summer we will be offering two different types of camp, one aimed at the Premier players in the region who want more than just a fun camp experience and we will also be introducing a new camp aimed at the younger players who want to learn new foot skills, play games and have fun!
The WIZARDS PREMIER PLAYERS CAMPS have been created specifically for competitive male and female club players ages 10 - 16 who are looking for something more than a regular soccer camp. Players may sign up individually or as a team, and will be coached within age and ability groups. The campers will enjoy a demanding and rewarding training program that will see them combine advanced skills, fitness, speed and competitive play. The focus of the 3 hour a day weeklong camp is to expose players to game-orientated training that will improve both their technical skills and their tactical soccer awareness. The emphasis of the coaching will be on the mastering of advanced skills, performance under pressure and playing at speed in game related situations.
The camps will feature:
- Passing and receiving on the move
- Midfield combination play
- One vs. One Defending
- Team Defending
- Shooting and Volleying
- Crossing and Heading
- Shooting from distance
- Taking on and beating defenders
- MLS Cup - Daily competitive games
The WIZARDS JUNIOR CAMP is the perfect camp for 6-9 year olds who love soccer and who want to enjoy meeting their Wizards soccer heroes up close. The camp will run for 3 hours each day and will combine foot-skill development along with competitions, fun games and even their own mini MLS Cup.
