Texans Credit Union Walk of Fame

The nomination process for the 2007 class of inductees to the Texans Credit Union Walk of Fame has now begun!

Nomination applications are being accepted now through July 4, 2007. Honorees may include former players, coaches, administrators and other contributors to the sport. In order to be eligible for nomination, players must be retired from the sport for a minimum of two years.

Nomination Process

This first leg of the open nomination process will last until July 4 at which point the selected nominees and the finalists who were not enshrined in 2005 or 2006, will be voted on by the 15 member Nomination Committee who will narrow that list down to five finalists. The four-person selection committee will then vote to enshrine the two inductees for Texans Credit Union Walk of Fame, Class of 2007. The official enshrinement ceremony for the Class of 2007 will take place on Saturday, October 20, prior to FC Dallas' final regular season home game against Kansas City Wizards.

The Texans Credit Union Walk of Fame is located just north of the Pizza Hut Park stadium and runs directly through the center of the youth soccer fields located immediately south of Technology Drive, a stretch of soccer history that spans approximately 1,400 linear feet. Various commemorative markers are located within this area, with plaques on each recognizing members of the soccer community who have been instrumental in helping build the sport in Texas. Additionally, other markers, to be installed each year, will also recognize key events in Texas soccer history. This unique landmark is not only a tribute to those who have dedicated much of their lives to the sport, but is also a point of historic interest for all fans visiting the facility.
