Acquired
Acquired along with Chris Wingert on Jan. 20, 2006 from the Columbus Crew in exchange for the Rapids’ natural third round draft pick in 2006 and a conditional draft pick in 2007.
MLS Experience
Matt Jordan returns to his native Denver to play in his seventh MLS season. Jordan has started 117 games entering this season and compiled a 53-46-17 record, 1.51 GAA and 30 shutouts.Jordan had signed with Odense Boldklub of the Danish Superliga on 2/22/03, after five seasons with the Dallas Burn. He was originally selected by Dallas in the first round (No. 10 overall) of the 1998 MLS College Draft.
2005: Started and played in two games for the Crew giving up three goals and making 13 saves.
2004: Started just one game in an injury-plagued first season in Columbus…Made his lone appearance and Crew debut on 10/9 at the MetroStars, turning aside five shots in a 1-1 tie...Was not available for 11 games with a sprained left ankle and has missed four games with a right calf strain.
2002: Started 27 games and crafted a 12-9-6 record and a 1.51 GAA…Recorded three shutouts…Was unbeaten in overtime, going 3-0-6…Made three saves in shutting out The Crew, 1-0 in OT, on 6/29…Posted his second straight clean sheet on 7/4, in a 2-0 win over the MetroStars…Shut out L.A., 1-0 in OT, on 8/24 at the Rose Bowl.
2001: Started all 26 Burn games…Tied for the league lead in shutouts with nine…Registered his first shutout of the year 4/14 at S.J. …Shut out The Crew on 5/12…Posted his second consecutive shutout on 5/19 at L.A. …Made six saves in shutting out T.B. on 6/6…Blanked D.C. on 6/9, L.A. on 6/30, T.B. on 7/18, the MetroStars on 8/11 and K.C. on 8/25.
