MLSnet.com 2007 Awards Tracker

We're back, baby! The experts at MLSnet.com are ready to yet again enrich you with our annual Awards Tracker, keeping you informed about who we see as the top candidates to pick up the hardware. Every Tuesday we'll publish our updated list, detailing why each man is moving up or down or staying put. This is in no way an official representation of the races.

Among our expert voters are Shep Messing, Greg Lalas, Jeff Bradley and Steve Davis. This year, in addition to Coach, Player, Rookie, Goalkeeper and Defender, we'll share our picks for Newcomer of the Year -- MLS's newest postseason hardware.

And you, the fans, can add your two cents by filling out the form at the bottom of this page to add your thoughts, critique ours or just to tell us we're geniuses. Like we said before, this is not real. Actual award winners will be announced during the week of MLS Cup.

This list is not subject to the approval of Major League Soccer or its clubs.

  Most Valuable Player

1     JUAN PABLO ANGEL  //  New York Red Bulls
If you haven't seen what Juan Pablo Angel does for his New York side, then you definitely missed this weekend's superb two-goal (MVP-like) performance.

  2     LUCIANO EMILIO  //  D.C. United
Emilio's been a scoring machine at times this year, just not lately. And while his team has claimed the Supporters' Shield, his star has dimmed a bit.

  3     SHALRIE JOSEPH  //  N.E. Revolution
The Revs have looked listless at times the last two weeks, probably a result of looking toward the playoffs, but Joseph added an assist in their latest match.

4     SACHA KLJESTAN  //  Chivas USA
The league's top assist man just lost one of his strikers in Ante Razov, so Kljestan, Chivas' midfield wizard, may have to up his scoring load down the stretch.

5     MAYKEL GALINDO  //  Chivas USA
His frontline mate down for the count, Galindo will be asked to wake from his second-half slumber for the postseason.

OTHERS RECEIVING VOTES
Taylor Twellman, Brad Guzan, Pat Onstad, Landon Donovan, Jesse Marsch, Ante Razov
