Specialty Clinics
MetroStars/MLS Camps’ clinics are a great way to assist soccer organizations with individual player and specialized training. We offer three individualized training options.

1. 1-ON-1 CLINICS
1-on-1 CLINICS can be adapted for any age group or ability

  • Teaches soccer players advanced skills and moves
  • An ideal tool for any aspiring soccer player
  • Focuses on the needs and wants of each player
  • Taught by highly qualified male and female coaches
  • A great addition to camp programs and team clinics

Skills Taught
Faking & Turning: Step over move, inside/outside hooks, cutting move, drag back turn, scissors move and many more
Technical Aspects: Creating space as an individual, passing, dribbling and running with the ball
Offensive Skills: Striking the ball correctly, attitude to shooting, volleying, attacking, heading
Defensive Skills: Defensive stance, forcing a player in one direction, pressure, tackling, and delay

2. 1-ON-4 CLINICS
1-on-4 CLINICS are a great way to limit the cost of specialist training

  • Work as a team unit on specialist positions
  • Taught by the Player Development Officer in your community
  • Excellent training program for team units: Defensive/Offensive

Skills Taught
Technical Aspects: Creating space as a unit, passing as a unit, movement on and off the ball
Offensive Skills: Attacking formations, breaking down defensive units, attacking options in the final third
Defensive Skills: Defending as a team, defensive team options, zonal or man-to man marking

3. GOALKEEPER TRAINING
In creating the Goalkeeper Training program, we have recognized the uniqueness of the position and the need to build in a variety of fresh and challenging activities. We have injected a number of preparatory speed and agility drills, skill development drills and active functional practices. The curriculum is particularly demanding and certainly not devoid of fun. Goalkeeping is an art form. The motor requirements of the keeper are uniquely different from those of the outfield player. Therefore, both the fine (hand-eye coordination) and gross motor (large movement) skill requirements are addressed in this all-inclusive curriculum.
