MetroStars Academy Coaching Staff
Antonio Meza: Antonio Meza joins the MetroStars Player Development team with over 20 years of professional soccer coaching experience. A former head coach of Universidad's Catolica U-15 team, Meza has served a variety of roles for a number of teams, including co-director and technical coordinator for Colo-Colo, conditioning coach of the First and Second division teams in Chile, and the director of player development for the Nichidai Yamagata Academy in Japan. Meza holds a FIFA "A" license from the Chilean National Soccer Federation and also a Bachelor of Arts degree in Physical Education.
Vadim Kirillov: Goalkeeper Coach Vadim Kirillov brings a wealth of experience to the MetroStars. A former player in the Soviet Union's Premier League, Kirillov coached goalkeepers of the U-14 U.S. National Soccer Team, ODP U.S. Region 1 club, ODP New Jersey State team and the MetroStars Reserve Team. Kirillov holds a Master's degree in Political and Economical Science from Moscow State University in Russia.
Stan Lembryk: Stan has been a coach in the MetroStars developmental system since 2001. He is currently the head coach of the newly formed U-14 team. Over the last two years, he has been the head coach for the U-17 and U-18 teams. Stan also serves as the head coach for the Clifton (NJ) High School Girls team. He has compiled a 62-14-2 record at Clifton with three league titles and three county titles. He has earned 2001 Star- Ledger Coach of the Year, 2001 Record/Herald News Area Coach of the Year and 2002 Passaic County Coach of the Year. Stan also served as the head coach at Jupiter High School (FL) for seven seasons. Prior to coaching, Lembryk played six years of professional soccer. He played for the MetroStars in 1996 and hand stints with the Maryland Bays, Ft. Lauderdale Strikers, New Jersey Stallions, Miami Breakers, and North Jersey Imperials. Stan is a graduate of Loyola College (MD) where he was a four-year letterman and team captain. His collegiate awards include All MAAC Conference and All Maryland. During his time at Loyola, the team appeared in four consecutive MAAC Conference Championships.
Paul O'Donnell: Paul has been a MetroStars Academy coach for the past three years. He served as head coach for the U-16's while assisting the U-19's. Aside from his duties with the MetroStars, Paul is an assistant coach at Iona College. He joined Iona after spending eight years as the head soccer coach at Kinnelon High School in NJ. In his second season at Kinnelon (1996), O'Donnell led his squad to the first of six-straight state tournament appearances. Prior to that year, the school never qualified for the top postseason tournament in NJ. In 1999, O'Donnell was named the Daily Record Area Coach of the Year for Northern NJ. From 1997-2001, O'Donnell worked for the North Jersey Imperials Professional Soccer Club. He served in various capacities while playing for the Imperials, including assistant coach, director of youth development and marketing. O'Donnell is a 1995 graduate of Columbia University where he was a four-year varsity letterman for the Lions. He was also a three-time All-Ivy League Honorable Mention winner. As a junior in 1993, O'Donnell was an instrumental part of the squad that earned the Ivy League Championship. He was a recipient of the Senior Alumni Award for Leadership, Dedication & Ability as a senior in 1994. After his collegiate career, O'Donnell spent one season in his native Scotland with the Greenock Morton FC in the Scottish First Division. He went on to play six years with the North Jersey Imperials in the United Soccer League Division III. O'Donnell was born in Scotland and raised in Kearny, NJ.
