Reserves: RSL 1, HOU 0

HOUSTON, TX (Sunday, September 09, 2007) - The Houston Dynamo reserves collected their second loss in the last three games today, dropping a 1-0 decision to the Real Salt Lake reserves at Robertson Stadium.

The contest was physical during the first half, with both teams looking to establish their dominance on the field. Real Salt Lake almost opened up the scoreboard at the 24th minute of play, with a strong kick from 20 yards out by Chris Lancos that hit the cross bar. Houston had a chance of its own to get ahead at the 39th minute, thanks by a shot from inside the box by Kenneth Hoerner that hit Kyle Reynish's left post.

During the second half, both teams continued trying to establish their dominance, but neither was able to score until the 55th minute. It was then that Real Salt Lake took the advantage for good. Adam Acosta was able to put a ball inside of Zach Wells' net with a strong, low shot from outside the box, thanks to an assist by Jamie Watson from the left side. Even though Houston had several opportunities to score in the remaining minutes, none of them materialized for them.

With the loss, The Houston Dynamo (2-5-2, 8 points) continue to struggle, finding themselves at the bottom half of the table. The next contest for the Men in Orange is scheduled for Tuesday, September 25, against Toronto FC. Kickoff is set for 11:45 a.m. at Carl Lewis Track Field.

On the other hand, the Real Salt Lake Reserves (4-4-0, 12 points) move up to fourth place in the Reserve Division standings. The next game for them will be on September 16 at Toronto FC. That game is scheduled for 10 a.m. local time.
