Kreis named MLS Player for the Month for June
DALLAS - Dallas Burn forward Jason Kreis has been named Major League Soccer's Player of the Month for June after striking for three goals and five assists in only five games. Of the eleven goals that the Burn scored in June, Kreis either scored or assisted on eight of them and had at least one point in four of the team's five games. Kreis currently ranks second in the league in goals (11) and points (30) and is tied for third in assists with eight. "I'm a little bit surprised and absolutely excited about winning the award," said Kreis. "I would be a little more pleased if the team was playing at its best right now because that means more to me than the personal achievements. I have no doubt, however, that we'll get things turned around here in the next few weeks." The Burn registered three wins in the month of June, with Kreis figuring in every victory. He had the game-winning assist vs. DC United on June 16 and against New England on June 26. He also scored the game-winning goal in Dallas' 5-2 win at the MetroStars on June 5, a game in which he registered six points, one point shy of the league-high this season set by Kreis on March 20.
